Jared Evan interviewed by DJ Z for DJBooth.net.  On the site, they have this to say about Jared: What do you get when you cross Mos Def, El-P and the Roots with The Beatles, Led Zep and Radiohead? Well, you get one of the most versatile and unconventional up-and-comers to hit the scene in a good, long while. Incorporating these disparate influences (and many more) into his distinctive, genre-defying sound, singer/songwriter/emcee/producer Jared Evan is one of those rare recording artists who can do it all – and do it well, as evidenced by the rave reader reviews garnered by his Booth features to date.

And I have to take a moment to be a big sister. To say that I am proud of my brother Jared is a massive understatement.  I have watched that kid struggle for his entire life.  There was always something different about him, which kept him sort of isolated from other kids at times.  But that very thing that made him different is also what’s making him so super successful right now.  Jared is one of the most immensely talented musicians I have ever met.  And I’m not just saying that because he’s my brother.  I never stopped believing in him, supporting him, and loving him—even when so many things in our collective lives were spinning out of control.  Jared’s talent and determination is a testament to the fact that hard work and passion can actually make dreams come true.  He’s such an inspiration to me.  And I hope that he and his music can do the same for you.
