Finally made it out for the 12 Angry Mascots show at Comix last night. It was great! One of the highlights: watching Robert Siegel’s semi-awkward interview was both charming and informative. And as fate would have it, the NYT just said this about him: In “Big Fan,” Patton Oswalt plays a loser. Oh, make that a major Giants fan. The movie, directed by Robert Siegel, the writer of “The Wrestler” and the former editor of The Onion, “avoids sentimentality without abandoning sentiment,” Manohla Dargis writes. It’s a “spasmodically funny and bleak love story” whose point is “that a life filled with so much generous love needs no pity.” Touchdown.
