This past Labor Day weekend, I got to explore the Pacific Northwest.  I flew into Spokane, where Boyfriend was waiting for me with a pretty bouquet of flowers upon arrival, and we drove to Coeur d’Alene in Idaho.  We stayed in a beautiful resort, right on a big crystal-clear lake, where we could watch the sunset from our balcony while we sipped champagne.  Then we moved on to Libby, Montana where we hiked through a trail along the Kootenai River, which again was crystal-clear and beautiful.  And our final stop was Spokane (again), where we stumbled upon a festival in the park near the river called “Pig Out in the Park” (very creative).  I loved every moment of this trip, mostly because I got to spend it with the person I love the most in this world.  But I was truly humbled and awe-struck by the beauty and silence of being in nature.  It’s an amazing thing to stand on top of a mountain overlooking a river, with no one around for miles, watching an Eagle build his nest at the top of a tree.

I want to leave New York more often…
